The hills of Bohol

This card shows the 'Chocolate Hills' , in the Bohol province, in Philippines. These are unusual hills, conical in shape, covered with grass that turns into brown during dry season, and hence the name . Lots of religious and fantasy stories tell the story about the formation. Published pages speak about the formation of these mounds, and coral deposits worked by rain water and erosion. There is another theory regarding volcanic reations. Either way, these structures drive in millions of tourists all over the world, and is one of the prime destinations in Phillipines. Numerous government run as well as private resorts have been built all around. It has been included in UNESCO's world heritage list.
