Gochang Dolmen Site

This card arrived from Shanghai, China. It shows a UNESCO World Heritage site in Korea, Gochang Dolmen Site. A dolmen refers to a tomb or a grave marker, used for ritual purposes in the first millennium BCE when the Megalithic Culture was prominent in Korea. A lot of pottery, jewels and funerary artifacts have been excavated from the dolmen. Up to 442 dolmen have been documented in this site. The Gochang Dolmen site has been listed as Historic Site #391.
