The card shows an illustrartion from a series of children books in Netherlands, 'Jip and Janneke' by Annie M. G. Schmidt and illustrated by Fiep Westendorp. all Dutch children enjoy reading the adventures of Jip and Janneke; each adventure is an independent story by itself. The stories started as a weekly newspaper series from 1952 to 1957. The stories begin when Janneke moves to the house next door to Jip, they become best friends and run into all kinds of kiddish adventures. I wish I could get a hold of this series, it sounds a trip back to my memory lane, when I was a fan of Enid Blyton series. It is upsetting these stories are no longer being translated into English.
