This vintage postcard shows us the Federal
Hill, in Bardstown, Kentucky. It was built in 1795, by Judge John Rowan. It is said that Stephen Forster was inspired
to write the song ‘My Old Kentucky home’ when he visited this estate in 1852. This
song became the state song of Kentucky in 1928. This mansion is surrounded by the ‘My Old Kentucky Home
State Park’.
