Lantern

The type of traditional lanterns brings back memories for me. In my mum's and dad's villages, they lanterns were quite often used, due to very frequent load shedding. So basic chores such as cooking, or sometimes even studying was completed under the rays of these traditional lanterns. The bottom container is used to store liquid fuels. One of the earliest jobs for my aunts in the village was to clean the glass from excess soot, and refill the container with fuel in early hours of twilight, since load shedding was quite erratic those days and it's very difficult to go fumbling in the dark.
